Woodvale (18+)

"Come and be part of our God-filled story of Woodvale this summer!

If you have a heart for Belfast city or you want to serve God somewhere with different challenges , consider joining our team who seek to show young people and the community that we believe in change and that God has a greater vision of hope for this area, than that which is shown through the news headlines.

The work here simply involves getting alongside the young people and telling them of a great God who loves them through a morning kids bible club and a teenager bible study as well as a teens drop in event at night. During the day we are seen "Loving as He loves" in the community in many different shapes and forms such as a football club, dance club, drop in cafes, giving out gift  bags or simply just hanging out having fun with the kids- wherever we are, we are standing out as a shining light for Christ. At the end of the week we hold a community event to reach out and bring everyone together this year taking the shape of a 'Tell It In Colour' night-giving a stage to stories of hope.

The sunday night youth group called Squat is a result of this PCI team- a place where these young people can come after the team and grow in their faith. Gaby one of our 'regulars' said, "Squat helps me become the person I know I need to be". The young people in this area are legends and for many this team is one of the highlights of their year. Each year every member of this team is warmly welcomed by them, the church and the community.

The journey isn't always easy but we believe God works here to transform darkness into light.  In Woodvale we aren't afraid to dream and we would love for you to come with your unique gifts (whether you know what they are or not!) and be part of the hopeful stories that are rising out of this place.

With God anything is possible.

Ephesians 3v20

"God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."
