Newry
What’s your plans looking like for this summer? Holiday? Relaxing? Catching up with friends?
What about serving God? If you love God and have a passion to share the precious truths and promises of His Word with others, then we would love for you to come and join us, and be part of what God will do in Newry this year.
During our week of outreach, we work alongside and support the work of two congregations, Downshire Road and Sandys Street Presbyterian Churches, situated just outside Newry town centre. This year, the team will run from Saturday 30th June to Sunday 8th July.
“What will we be doing during the week?” I hear you cry! Each day consists of running a Holiday Bible Club in the morning for the children, sharing the love of God through music, drama, stories, crafts, quizzes, mess (believe me, there’s lots of mess!) and by having lots and lots of fun! We also run an event for teenagers each evening consisting of games, ridiculous activities, talks, testimonies and discussions. Last year saw us set up a prayer room for the teenagers to use – something we hope to develop and build upon this year.
Usually, the afternoon is a time for us to worship as a team and spend time studying the Bible, learning and growing together.
So what can you expect? You can expect that the week will be hard work and at times tiring, but I have no doubt that you will be left in awe at the mighty work God will do during this week of outreach and that you’ll come away having grown closer to Him, knowing more about Him and will be enthused and excited about how powerful and awesome God is.
We hope you are as excited as we are and are looking forward to being part of the story of Newry this year as we show what “Loving because He loves” is all about. So, want to come to Newry? Great! All you have to do is download the application form, fill it in and get it in the post ASAP. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.
Looking forward to serving God alongside you this summer!
John 13:35, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
