Where Is The Team Going?

The team will travel to and be based in the multi-cultural community of Stratford in East London.  Stratford is the home of the Olympics Village and many of the Olympics venues for the 2012 Games.

What Will The Team Be Doing?

In conjunction with a local church, the team will be involved in the provision of a number of different evangelistic outreach activities to the local community and visitors to the area.  These are likely to include sports-related holiday club activities for children and young people, street work and a drop-in centre.

Who Will The Team Work With?

The team will work closely with Rev Edwin Kibathi and his wife, Anne.  Edwin is the minister of a ‘UK Outreach’ church planted by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) to meet the pastoral and spiritual needs of the sizeable Kenyan community in London.  This will be the third consecutive year that a team from PCI has worked with PCEA UK Outreach in the provision of children’s & youth evangelistic programmes.  The team will also work alongside members of the PCEA Church and with members of other local churches that, together, are working with the Christian Outreach organisation, ‘More than Gold’ (www.morethangold.org.uk) to reach out to the many visitors expected in London for the 2012 Olympics.
