Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Little Day Out events are part of the wider resource that we produce for churches as “A helping hand for ministry with under-5s”.

The philosophy is that we pilot different types of events for this age group that are targeted to a particular presbytery and then invite all the local crèche groups and Toddlers groups to join us. The events are then written up with all the resources used, including stories, publicity and budget details that are needed to run the event.

These events can then be replicated by any church or presbytery.

Our first “Little Day Out” event took place on 26th September 2013 in Streamvale Farm in Dundonald.

The aim:

An event for children aged 0-4 years to come and discover God’s rescue plan for Noah and his family through story, craft, games and interaction with animals in the surroundings of Streamvale Farm.

We had nearly 80 0-4 year olds who attended this event and learn not only about Noah and God’s plan of rescue, but we able to interact with the animals on the farm.

A great day was had by all!

Our second “Little Day Out” event took place on Thursday 15th May 2014 at Kilfennan Presbyterian Church in Londonderry.

The aim:

An event for children aged 0-4 years to come and learn about Jesus and the feeding of the 5000 through story, craft, games and songs and then to have a picnic together with the teddy bears.

There were 56 toddlers and 8 babies who attended this event in the north-west and learnt about how we have a Great Big God through the story of the miracle of Jesus feeding of the 5000.

A lot of fun was had by everyone!
