» Aims & Objectives
Our work can be summarised in this way: The Board of Youth and Children’s Ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland is committed to the nurture, empowerment and development of children and young people through an integrated denominational programme of ministry that, at every level, places children and young people at the centre of the life of the Church. The ministry is continually being developed in response to the needs of our denomination, the changing needs of children and young people and the context in which they live - but above all else, because of the biblical mandate to take seriously the responsibility to reach and keep children and young people in the Christian faith.
» Our Remit
The remit of the Board of Youth and Children’s Ministry (YAC), as set out in the Code of Practice for our Church, is to develop the Church’s witness to children and young people, the work done for, and with children and young people, and to support them as they engage in Christian service. As a Board we have taken these foundational aims and developed a ministry that seeks to continually educate our church about the changing world and needs of children and young people and to facilitate local congregations in the work of evangelism, nurture and training of children, young people and their leaders. YAC does not exist to work independently of local Presbyterian congregations, rather to support, encourage and facilitate the local congregation in every way possible. The ministry activities of the Board are all, therefore, developed and designed with this modus operandi in mind.
